Nourishing children, empowering communities

NutriHeal Integrated Concept was born from a simple yet urgent realization in Northern Nigeria: fertile lands should never produce malnourished children. Discover our integrated path of food innovation, digital health, and community empowerment.

The spark that started our journey

During a visit to a rural community in Northern Nigeria, our founder encountered children suffering from severe undernutrition, marked by swollen bellies and fragile bodies, right beside lush farmland and abundant harvest. It was clear that food availability alone is not enough. Families need affordable, nutrient-rich foods that fit their cultural context and daily lives. We established NutriHeal to turn locally harvested crops into life-saving therapeutic solutions.

Combining nutrition science and digital technology

To tackle malnutrition at its root, we developed ChubbyMeal, an indigenous ready-to-eat therapeutic food for severe acute malnutrition, and Toreo Gold, an accessible nutrient-enriched family cereal. Alongside healthy food, we built BabyThrive: an offline-ready mobile health app in Hausa and English featuring animated education, indigenous recipes, and growth monitoring to empower mothers with proven child-feeding knowledge.

Our vision for a sustainable food ecosystem

Over the next decade, we are building a resilient ecosystem where no child suffers because wholesome food is out of reach. By sourcing directly from local farmers, advancing indigenous processing technology, and reducing reliance on foreign aid products, we strengthen community livelihoods and equip families to prevent malnutrition permanently.

"I learned the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, that is why I stopped giving my baby water and resumed exclusive breastfeeding. It has also educated my friends who used it with me."
